How to guide
Create a New Report
In the Head-to-Head Analysis section, start by selecting Create a New Report. Choose your competitors to include in the report, and then save your selection.
Your new report will provide a comprehensive benchmarking view across multiple dimensions, giving you a clearer picture of your competitors’ strengths and weaknesses.
Overview
- In the Overview section, you’ll see the total market for the competitors you’ve selected. Adjust the Date Picker to set the period you want to analyze and, if helpful, select a Comparison Period to observe how performance has evolved over time.
Retailer Market Share
- Here, you can directly compare market share across competitors to identify who’s leading and track shifts over time. For a closer look at your own position, use this view to assess how your market share and trends stack up against key competitors.
- By default, this section displays the top 5 competitors. If you have more than five, use the Retailer Selection tool to customize your view.
Performance Over Time
- This section allows you to benchmark your daily and overall revenue performance against competitors. Use the Metrics Dropdown to compare your performance across various metrics, such as revenue, conversion rate, and sessions, over time.
Competitor Matrix
- In the Competitor Matrix, you can explore how your competitors perform by plotting two metrics to examine correlations. For instance, you might identify if a higher average order value corresponds with a lower conversion rate. This view adds context to competitors’ performance, helping you pinpoint areas for improvement.
Marketing Channels Performance
- This section benchmarks your competitors’ performance across different marketing channels, showing which channels drive the most revenue. Focus on competitors with strong growth from the Retailer Market Share section to identify successful strategies you may want to adopt. Use the dropdown to explore how metrics like conversion rate, market share, and revenue vary by channel.
Device Performance
- Here, you’ll discover which devices—mobile or desktop—are converting best for each competitor and generating the highest revenue. Use this data to target specific competitors and investigate their strategies, especially if a particular device is yielding better results.
Shopper Demographics
- This final section breaks down which age and gender groups are generating the most revenue and converting best for each competitor. By identifying strong-performing demographics for top-growing competitors, you can adapt your assortment and marketing strategies to target these valuable segments effectively.
Remember to name and save your report. Once saved, it will be saved and ready for you to access in the head to head section of your Grips account.
