How to guide

Checking an Individual Retailer’s Promotional Performance

  1. Find the Retailer – In the Grips app, start by searching for your competitor to access their data.
  2. Access Promotional Performance Over Time – Navigate to the Performance Over Time section.To view daily data, go to the Realtime tab (selected by default) for daily sales insights. Data is updated by 6 AM Central European Time.
  3. Analyze Daily Metrics – Use the dropdown menu to switch between daily Revenue, Sessions, and Transactions metrics for your selected competitor.

Any detected anomalies, such as unexpected revenue increases or decreases, will be flagged on the chart.

Revenue Increases: Anomalies often indicate promotional campaigns. For more details, refer to the Coupon Table below the chart to view specific coupons your competitor is using that may be driving revenue.

Revenue Drops: Unexpected drops, though less frequent, could signal technical or operational issues on your competitor’s site.

To stay updated, subscribe to alerts for this retailer. You’ll receive email notifications whenever an anomaly is detected, so you can take action promptly.

For competitive context, toggle on the Compare to Competitors switch to access the head-to-head analysis.

Head-to-Head Analysis

  1. Select Competitors Use the easy search feature to select all relevant competitors, then click Create and Save Report.
  2. View and Analyze Competitor Trends In Performance Over Time, view the top 5 domains in a single dashboard to see how daily revenue fluctuates across your competitor set.Observe if other competitors are reacting to promotions and how these promotions may impact the group’s overall sales. If you have more than 5 competitors, use the retailer option to update the chart with other retailers

Remember to name and save your report for easy reference. You can find it anytime in the Head-to-Head Reports section.
